Project 14 TOTAL REBUILD AND RHD CONVERSION
Chassis SB00SD0562 was sold new in Jan.`73 to James Sheldon as one of the rare and much sought after 3.0L 5sp. versions and was well maintained in the Medows of Dan in Virgina USA untill 1979 when it was moved to California where it spent the next 21yrs being cared for by Citroen Concourse of America in San Diego. It was therefore mechanically very healthy. The body was/is first class due to the desert climate but the Californian sun had taken its toll on the original paint, and leather etc.
Arriving in Australia in May 2000 the car was progressively stripped to a bare metal shell. The engine ,transmisssion, and leather were all restored to better than new with many modern up grades, and the bodyshell and all panels were painted the rare and beautiful SM colour of Blue Palatine.
Because of its `virginal` body, (very rare at 33yrs old) this car will be built to our absolute highest standard with every available upgrade included, I intend to make this car the finest SM we have ever built surpassing even our previous examples. Depending on workload the car will be complete for the 2006 Bastille Day display in July, or at the SM Grand Tour ll `06 in August. !!!.....1/1/2008............. We certainly did not make that target date as we have been far too busy with preperation of sold cars. This very special car is available for sale and will be given priority if it is sold! otherwise I will have to wait till I can find 4 mths free in our bookings to complete the job. ......PM
