> Project 32 . Un used and stored in the heated basement carpark of the deceased wealthy owner since 1981!!!!!!!!!...., this 25,000 ml 3.0l 5sp was rediscovered  26 yrs after it was parked .

Still in 'mint' original condition, (the closest thing to a "new" SM I have ever seen), the car arrived in Aust with all its log books in 2007. The last time it moved was 1981 just before the owner had a stroke, and it remained parked and unknown in his heated garage until (after his death in 1995), a long fought legal battle, was resolved in 2007!!!. The paint is faded and the engine is 'stuck' from its hibernation, but everything else looks smells and feels 'new'

The car will  be stripped and repainted and the engine stripped and rebuilt ,,,It is not for sale!

> Project 31  This beautiful Californian example owned and loved by a Frenchman for 25 yrs and over 100,000mls, it is a perfect example of the usability of a well cared for SM

Owned and used as a show car and regular driver by an influential, French born, Los Angles  based, motor racing engineer. ... this car always had the best of care. It requires only very minor paint touch ups and has beautiful original Tabac leather and carpets virtually unmarked after 35 yrs. The car was always garaged  perfectly maintained and was protected from the sun. Following our standard preparation procedures,.... ('What we do to prepare an SM for Sale' on the For Sale page of this site),.... this exceptional example, in popular Or de Simiane, will be complete and ready for delivery by Feb 2009

> Project  30  Stunning 'non standard' Crimson  paintwork  highlights  this special  3.0l automatic SM from Texas

Sold new in Kentucky it was obviously well maintained and much loved during its 55,000 ml. life in the USA, although only few records are available. The original leather and carpets are in excellent condition and the car drove so well that on arrival to Aust in 2006 it was easily started after a 5 mth trip from Houston and driven from the Sydney docks down to Wollongong (100 klms.) without any problems... and it drove beautifully!

(Most cars are freighted after their hibernation and long journey)

It will soon to receive a full under bonnet upgrade and general refurbishment, (though not too much is needed here), to our normal high standards. This car will be completed by December 2008 if not sold before.

> Project  14    TOTAL  REBUILD AND RHD CONVERSION  .... OUR  DEFINATIVE WORK !!!!!

Chassis  SD00SD0562  was sold new in Jan.`73 to James Sheldon as one of the rare and much sought after 3.0L engines to be fitted with a 5sp gearbox. As a one owner car with no previous damage and all original paint and bodywork it was the perfect basis for a very special restoration. This vehicle will receive every possible upgrade and option to become the finest SM we can build .

No expense will be spared and only the best parts available will be used . No time frame is involved...............It  now appears this car will be completed early 2009!!

.......THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES HAVE NOW BEEN COMPLETED.......

> Project 29   A  42,000 mile ' never Winter Driven'  '72  5sp  with  original sun-roof comes out of hiding .... NOW COMPLETED.!!!!!!

Well maintained by three previous owners and only very lightly used in the local rural areas around Philadelphia the car wes never 'winter driven' avoiding the harmful snow and road salt. The original paintwork was in exceptional condition and only minor touch-ups were required. Having rarely been exposed to the sun, lightly used and well oiled, the interior leather is in superb condition. Mechanically the car is very sound having been well maintained by the same experienced SM workshop most of its life. A full engine/ mechanical upgrade will ensure years of excellent service .

The classic Black over White livery, as displayed in the originally approved SM design clay mock-ups in 1968, will highlight this rare low mileage example  ...................Now completed and the vehicle is SOLD.

> PROJECT 28  Completion of RHD conversion  and full restoration of a '73  3.0L auto SM after an  11 year wait !!!.........NOW COMPLETE!!!!!

Imported in 1996 this car has been ' in process' of the RHD conversion ever since.  Some of the conversion work was completed and some mechanical work was done .In our hands since Nov. 2007 for the completion of the conversion tasks, (dash, a/c, throttle, interior trimming, Aust. compliance, engine and mechanical updates etc.)these will now happen along with a full 'Show' standard restoration. The car is also to have a full colour change to a stunning colour chosen by the owner and the interior to be restored.  It is to be completed by end of this year..............NOW  Completed and returned to its, now happy, long suffering owner

> PROJECT 27   RESTORATION OF A 36,000 ML. 'BARN CAR' FOUND IN KENTUCKY AFTER A   21 YR. HIBERNATION ...................  NOW COMPLETED  !!!

This '73 auto SM was bought from the original owner in 1984 with a seized engine, only 36,000 mls traveled and in immaculate body and interior condition. It was dry stored in a barn by the new owner who intended to repair the engine when he got the time. Well as often is the case that never happened and except for caring for the leather the car was never touched for 21yrs......( OH! Except that a motor cycle fell on it!!!!!! and someone backed a tractor into it !!!!!!!!)

Arriving in Aust. in 2007 the car was immediately purchased as a perfect restoration project and will receive a full treatment also being converted to a 5sp. manual transmission. The glorious Blue'd Bregancon will be retained to complement the splendid original Tabac interior. The car should be completed by October 2008. ...................SOLD

> Project 25  RESTORATION AND TRANSMISSION SWAP OF A SOLID CALIFORNIAN CAR TO REPLACE THE RUSTED UK CAR SHOWN IN Protect 20, below ........  ' NOW COMPLETED'

Chassis SB8057 began life in 1972 in Nthn California as a Vert Argent 2.7l auto with rare green interior. Bought to Aust. in 2004 as a partly completed (engine, suspension etc.) restoration project that had stalled, by SM Australia. It was then purchased as a long term project by the new owner to replace a badly rusted UK car that was intended to be restored but was beyond help. The car will be re stripped and restored, repainted in Persian Red with the black leather from his UK car, and converted to a 5sp. manual in the process.

> Project 22  A FULL RESTORATION OF A VERY ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED,  ONE OWNER, SM .....NOW COMPLETED

Complete with all the original books and delivery paperwork, this SM was owned and maintained by an Engineer . It had traveled only a virginal 77,000 ml's. when it came to Aust. in 2004 and was virtually untouched mechanically. So original that it still had that new car `smooth` feel you rarely get now. I have been waiting for the chance to restore it. Now that it is sold, it will receive the complete `Show` standard engine bay treatment, and it is to be stripped to metal and painted the stunning and very rare Blue`d Bergancon, the only SM this colour in Aust........................... !!Note  After delivery this car won ..........Best of Show at the Brisbane Bastille Day Concourse!!!

> Project  20    THE TOTAL STRIP OF A BADLY RUSTED SM TO HELP RESTORE OTHERS    NOW COMPLETED

This UK spec car was imported from England in 1995. Life in the moist climate and the salt from the roads combined with previous poor repairs to most panels were a recipe for this sad end to a once beautiful car. This condition is possibility with any car exposed to the snowy winters of Nthrn. Europe and Nth America. By fully stripping the good bits and reconditioning them some worthwhile purpose has been served by providing parts for restorable SMs.

> Project 19    ENGINE BAY RESTORATION TO SHOW CAR STANDARD                                     38 photos to date.....NOW COMPLETED!!!!!

Chassis No. SD00SD0897 is a one owner car from Chicago. Sold new to Dr. Clarence Close it has been lovingly pampered and continuously used and serviced for 32 yrs and is in excellent condition.  The new owner wants to make `under the bonnet` look as good as the rest of the car.

> Project 18 - THE RESTORATION OF AN ORIGINAL LOW MILAGE 'DESERT' CAR               -NOW COMPLETED-!!!!!

Chassis No. SB00SD1405 is one of the last SMs to enter the US in July `73. Sold new to Lance Thompson by the Tempe Motor Co. in Tempe Arizona it spent its life in the `Desert State`traveling only 68000mls in 31yrs, before coming to Australia in 2004. Always well serviced and garaged the interior is in mint original condition (helped by heavy black window tinting) and only the original Brown paint needs attention.

We will take the opportunity to refresh the appearance of the car by a colour change to the classy `Kashmir` beige, a warmer version of the SM colour Biege Metallise, we will create Euro `smooth sides` and remove the effective but ugly black window tinting.

The engine and mechanicals are in very good condition, and being another rare 3.0L 5sp. the performance is really strong, but a timing chain update, carby, electrical, suspension, hydraulic and cooling system overhauls and our other standard servicing adjustments and modifications will ensure trouble free running for many more thousands of miles once everything is reassembled.

This car will be completed for testing later this year.
