The Inaugural SM Grand Tour has been run, and I think I speak for all participants that it was indeed a 'Grand Tour'.

17 SMs travelled an average of 1000 kms along the Hume Weir to the Rutherglen Wineries.

Euro and US spec. cars (with Australian Mods.) 3.0L and 2.7L, Autos and Manuals. They were all there.
A rare sight anywhere, especially in Australia!
The meeting place was Oddies Park in Albury where a canopy was set up for participants to park their SMs, meet other enthusiasts, refresh themselves with some food and drinks and see 16 other beautiful SMs.

It was also a good chance to take some unique shots of 17 SMs grouped together.

They came from all over Australia.

While this photo was taken, Ian Steele from Queensland offered the hint that in order to get a better shot of the trees- "we should move those weird cars out of the way!" It was probably good advice but we got a good shot of the cars anyway!

A quick stop off before heading over to the photo session on the riverbanks- and if you think it looks cold, believe us when we say it was a lot colder.

We experienced a short delay on the bridge to the photo session, but it provided us with yet another opportunity to take a great shot of  17 SMs on the road.

A brilliant example of the uniqueness of this event. A beautiful, rugged Australian landscape to help showcase these rare, French cars. Only 5 SMs were originally sold in Australia.

The Albury landscape was a beautiful area to showcase these stunning cars-all of which were in excellent condition.

A final group shot at St. Leonard's Wineries. After a tasty barbeque and a farewell, the SMs returned home the better for the journey and their owners with renewed confidence in their cars, enthusiasm for future events and opportunities to savour the magic of their prized possession. Indeed it was a 'Grand Tour!'
