History: Originally sold in Riverside California this SM started life as a Brun Scarabee automatic. Found in San Deigo in 2000 it had not moved since the transmission failed in 1989. The body was perfect and all orignal, preserved in the desert conditions and totally complete.The engine started and ran smoothly immediately that fuel and battery were added, for the first time in 11yrs.
The car was the subject of the Restoration pages on this website and when completed as a RHD, 5 SP. manual in Royal Silver with Tan leather 12 mths later, immediately won the CCC Bastielle Day Concourse, Best SM in 2002 and again in 2003. The car was featured in Unique cars and Australian Classic Car magazines and in Australian Style. Regularly displayed the car is also a daily driver and participated in the Inagural SM Grand Tour `05
